The Identity Project exhibition as part of "Queer Photography: a non-definitive survey"

30 October 2021: To celebrate the opening of The Ledward Centre, Brighton’s LGBTQ+ new safe space, The Socially Engaged Art Salon (SEAS) staged a group exhibition of lens-based artists and photographers with works centred on social and political themes and photography projects created through participatory and collaborative practices. The works included an examination of queer identities, documentation of pride and other LGBTQ+ events, exploration of “queer spaces”, participatory work with marginalised communities, narrative based projects and works that defy definitions

All the works were shown on digital screens by day and at night projected onto The Ledward Centre’s window so, for this installation a selection of portraits from The Identity Project, my portrait of the LGBTQ+ community, were displayed with text as a movie film.

The exhibition launched on October 29th as part of Brighton Digital Festival and continued until January 15th 2022.
