Melanie Masson participated in Series 9 of The X Factor UK (2012) as part of the Over 28s category mentored by Gary Barlow. She was eliminated from the competition in Week 2, finishing in 12th place after losing the sing-off to District3.
September 2020 saw the launch of her new single 'Why Don’t You Love Me?', and October saw a live performance at G-A-Y nightclub in London to a seated, socially-distanced audience during the Covid pandemic.
