UK Black Pride

I LOVE the diversity of my job, and this was again proven to me yesterday when I was invited to be the official photographer (for the 2nd consecutive year) at UK Black Pride.

After a brief but heavy shower, the clouds parted and the sun shone down on UK Black Pride as bigger than expected crowds packed in to central London’s Torrington Square. Sponsored by Stonewall, UKBP is the biggest celebration of African, Asian, Caribbean and Middle Eastern LGBT people in Europe and featured sumptuous food from around the world, educational workshops, community stalls and an open-air urban dance area that featured some fabulous impromptu booty shakin! The live main stage was programmed with over 8 hours of inspirational speakers, top djs, singers and performers with headliner Ms Dynamite bringing the event to a close with a fantastic set of hits and new material. With near-perfect organisation and capacity crowds, UKBP was a brilliant day of celebration, diversity and tolerance.
